These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern access to and use of the Groundrise platform (groundrise.io) and Groundrise Connect (connect.groundrise.io), operated by Groundrise Inc (“Groundrise,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By accessing or using either product, you agree to these Terms. If you are accessing the platform on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.
Section 1
Description of Services
Groundrise provides a cloud-based case management platform for social service nonprofits and government agencies. The platform consists of two products: (1) Groundrise, a staff-facing case management application, and (2) Groundrise Connect, a client-facing mobile application. Together, these products enable organizations to manage client records, service logs, program enrollments, and communications.
Section 2
Eligibility and Account Access
Staff access to Groundrise is provisioned by the client organization's designated administrator. Clients access Groundrise Connect by invitation from their assigned coordinator. Users must maintain the confidentiality of their login credentials and are responsible for all activity that occurs under their account. Accounts may not be shared or transferred.
Section 3
Acceptable Use
Users of the Groundrise platform agree not to:
- Access or attempt to access data belonging to other organizations or individuals
- Use the platform to send unsolicited, harassing, or unlawful communications
- Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or otherwise derive source code from the platform
- Upload malicious code, viruses, or any content intended to damage or interfere with platform operation
- Use the platform in violation of any applicable law, regulation, or third-party rights
- Misrepresent identity or affiliation when using the platform
Groundrise reserves the right to suspend or terminate access for any user found in violation of these terms.
Section 4
SMS Messaging Terms
Clients of organizations using Groundrise may receive SMS messages from their coordinator via the platform. The following terms apply to all SMS communications sent through Groundrise:
- Consent required: SMS messages are only sent to clients who have explicitly opted in via the Groundrise Connect app toggle, by texting JOIN to (602) 878-6686, or through staff-assisted verbal consent recorded by a coordinator
- Message frequency: Message frequency varies based on coordinator activity and organizational communication practices
- Message and data rates: Standard message and data rates may apply depending on the recipient's mobile carrier and plan
- Opt-out: Recipients may opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message or by toggling off “Receive SMS updates” in the Groundrise Connect app
- Help: Recipients may reply HELP at any time for assistance
- No sharing: Mobile phone numbers collected for SMS communication are not shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes

Section 5
Data and Privacy
All data collected and processed through the Groundrise platform is subject to our Privacy Policy, available at groundrise.io/privacy. Client organizations are responsible for ensuring that their use of the platform complies with applicable privacy laws, including obtaining any required consents from their clients prior to entering data into the system.
Section 6
Intellectual Property
The Groundrise platform, including all software, design, content, and documentation, is owned by Groundrise Inc and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Users are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use the platform solely for its intended purpose. No rights are granted beyond those expressly stated in these Terms.
Section 7
Service Availability and Modifications
Groundrise strives to maintain platform availability but does not guarantee uninterrupted access. Scheduled maintenance, technical issues, or circumstances beyond our control may result in temporary unavailability. Groundrise reserves the right to modify, update, or discontinue features of the platform at any time with reasonable notice to affected organizations.
Section 8
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Groundrise Inc shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from use of or inability to use the platform. Groundrise's total liability for any claim arising under these Terms shall not exceed the fees paid by the applicable organization in the three months preceding the claim.
Section 9
Termination
Either party may terminate access to the platform in accordance with the terms of the applicable service agreement between Groundrise and the client organization. Upon termination, Groundrise will provide a data export and delete client data in accordance with our Privacy Policy and any applicable service agreement.
Section 10
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved in the courts of the State of Delaware.
Section 11
Changes to These Terms
Groundrise may update these Terms periodically. We will post the updated Terms at groundrise.io/terms and update the “Last Updated” date. For material changes, we will notify client organizations via email at least 30 days before the change takes effect. Continued use of the platform after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
